Day 2/100. No Porn Challenge

No nude pics, vids, or anything of the sort. I’ve tried this a few months ago after reading both Ferdinand’s post and Victor Pride’s of Bold and Determined. I can say there are positive results although I only lasted three weeks with both no masturbation or porn. I lifted hard, had a few new lays I probably wouldn’t have pursued, and wrote some great posts. Naughty Nomad has inspired me to go at it again with this recent post. Claims are made that it takes 3-6 months for positive benefits to take effect so that is where the nice round 100 comes in. I have been saturated with porn lately, but in a slightly different way than most guys. Over the course of this year I gradually stopped visiting dedicated porn sites like xvideos and stuck with Tumblr porn. This has been waaaaaay more destructive since your queue literally never ends. I’ve found myself seamlessly scrolling through my dashboard for over 85 pages on my phone, never seeing the same woman twice.

The road is…difficult but interesting. For instance I caught myself while reading Journey of Superman’s 31 things post .Of course there happens to be a topless pic of my favorite pornstar smiling at me. It’s also a gamble every time I hit the Stumble! button on my toolbar. Out of 6 clicks, one was a model with a wet t-shirt (artistic value of course), one was a full on nude, and another was a gallery of half naked chicks. In times of mental chaos, I think back to the stories I read about men in their 20’s with erectile dysfunction because their dopamine receptors shut down from over-stimulation. What seems more daunting, 100 days of no porn or being 20 something and having your soldier stop standing at attention. Have a question or want to share your experience, drop it down below. Seems like a good time to finish watching Your Brain On Porn.

  1. i think you should set relisatic goals, an addiction is and addiction bad habbits die hard and if you usually watch porn every day and all of a sudden just quit it for weeks at a time youre going to fall into it again. i think you should approach a more relisatic goal like say.. if you usually watch por for an hour every day cut that time to half an hour the first week. then the next week set a goal, like say only watch 4 times the whole week each half an hour only not one more minute..the key is to set relisatic goals you cant just cut off all kinds of porn and masturbation, if you do well you know what happens. set goals that you can truly achieve never too high nor too easy, and stick to them no matter what. keep your self busy most of your day and on the days that you wont be watching it get rid of the temptation like go out and about of invite someone over.

    1. Very good tips, leaving it cold turkey has left me worse for wear. I’m assuming the dopamine stopped flowing suddenly and I felt some form of withdrawl. I’ll have to implement stages, thanks for the well thought out comment.
